This notice explains how ExperTranslate processes personal data when you request translation services, create an account, communicate with us, or use our verification pages.

- Legal basis: Main legal basis: contract or pre-contract steps for translation requests; legal obligations where retention or accounting rules apply; legitimate interest for security and fraud prevention; consent only for optional marketing, analytics, or explicit handling of sensitive data in uploaded documents.
- Data processed: We process account details, contact details, uploaded documents, source and destination languages, messages, payment or quote context when provided, access logs, and audit records.
- Purposes: We use this data to prepare quotes, perform translations, coordinate sworn translators, deliver files securely, verify completed translations, provide support, maintain audit trails, and protect the service.
- Sharing: Documents are shared only with authorized staff, assigned sworn translators, hosting/storage providers, email providers, and professional advisers where necessary. Sworn translators do not receive client contact details through the platform.
- Retention: Uploaded source files are kept only for the service and audit windows shown in the product. Files may be deleted earlier on verified request where legal retention does not require keeping them.
- Your rights: Under GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent where consent is the legal basis.
- Security: We use access controls, private file handling, audit logs, and separated translator/client views to reduce unnecessary exposure.
- Cookies: Essential cookies are used for session security. Optional analytics or marketing cookies must not run unless you accept them.
- Complaint: You may contact us first, and you also have the right to contact the CNIL or your local EU data protection authority.
